Everyone I spoke with at this company was very nice and communicated well. The company is professionally run and organized. They kept me updated when the electrician was on the way, which I appreciated. However, I couldn’t give them 5 stars because the pricing was outrageous. To install one floodlight security camera, the electrician, Theo, quoted me over $1,000 — and that was without their VIP membership. With the membership discount, the price would still have been $940. It felt like I was being quoted for multiple cameras or a full security system, not a single installation. I’ll stick with contractors from the two popular apps who are willing to do the same job for $260–$300.

Roland Bowes is awesome! He helped a few years ago on a few items. I've called other electricians intermittently but none of them were as good a Roland. I'm happy to work with him again- he also fixed a few other items he actually recommended a few years ago and I also signed up for the annual service plan. The team showed great knowledge and expertise when fixing our electrical repair issue, and their prices were very affordable. The electricians at West Houston Electric are very knowledgeable, thorough and personable. I feel very comfortable talking to them about the issue that they had come out to address (especially since electricity is definitely not my thing!). Landan and his teammate explained everything to me and they did a great job. One of the other electricians, Christian, was here about a year ago to address an over voltage issue that we were having with oir new Daikin FIT AC system. He and his teammate did a thorough analysis to troubleshoot the problem and they even met with a Centerpoint tech to determine the issue. Because of that great experience I contacted them again to install a new outlet. I would definitely recommend West Houston Electric!

He did a very thorough inspection of my home, finding a number of issues that need attention and will email all the details we covered. I had a 3 switch wall plate that was heating up and I tried to “fix” it myself. I was unsuccessful and was left with finding an Electrician. I looked at West Houston Electric and actually thought nobody can really have that many great reviews. Well, I was wrong! JD and his assistant Dalton showed up on time and immediately began a detailed diagnostic. They not only found the cause of my overheating wall plate but also discovered incorrect circuit breakers on my two ac units. JD is professional, knowledgeable and VERY patient. He discussed all options in a simple and understandable way. I will be using West Houston Electric for all my electrical needs.

He was on time, professional, personable, explained what he was doing, and called a colleague when he wasn't certain about something instead of forging ahead and damaging something. All things considered, an extremely positive interaction. In the course of his (standard) safety inspection he advised me of 3 electrical issues that need to be addressed somewhat urgently, and our home is only 6 years old. Estimates were clear and there is no hard sell. I will definitely use West Houston Electric in the future. Update: Joseph returned today to perform the additional services. I would give more than 5 stars if it was an option. He replaced our whole-house surge protector, installed a new grounding rod and corrected a grounding error he identified (and patiently explained to me) in an electrical subpanel. The office called ahead to see if he could come early. That was awesome. The price was fair. He was fast, professional and even let me watch. Ask for Joseph. Update: We had a near miss lightning strike that surged through our whole-house surge protector and Landen came out to address it. He diagnosed the problem very efficiently and had our blown circuits back online quicker than I expected. Thanks, Landen. Update: Today Sean came out and did a 5+ Star job for us. We needed our replacement surge protector installed so the old unit can be sent to the manufacturer for testing in conjunction with a warranty claim. The manufacturer has been great to work with so far, but we won't have approval until testing is complete. I am optimistic, since WHE seems to work with top quality suppliers. Sean is the third electrician we have worked with from WHE, and since he had not been here before he performed his own thorough safety check, which I appreciated. Thank you, Sean.

The evening after the initial appointment, I still had a problem with my GFI plug. The next day I called and coordinated a booking to have a service person come out and resolve the issue. Within a short period of time, the technician was able to determine the issue, again waited 24 hours to see if the GFI switch tripped or not. Success was achieved. The service technician was on target on time very polite and very knowledgeable.

This stubborn little bulb had refused to budge, so it required a full removal of the fixture to finally extract the old bulb. Now, thankfully, I have light over my sink again. And don't worry, I won't be making any "How many people does it take to change a light bulb?" jokes... except to say that it took two professionals, a fixture removal, and a lot more effort than you'd expect for a bulb! Why did Christian and Travis bring ropes to change the light bulb? Because they were ready for a fixture adventure!

I contacted West Houston Electric because my outdoor lighting was not working. If you know, you know. It is extremely dark at night. For safety reasons, I like my home lit up. My tech was Rolan Bowes. He was prompt, courteous, professional, and communicated well what was going on with our lights and how he could fix it. Rolan fixed the problem, and now our lights are working. I will definitely use this company again for any of our electrical issues.

They also checked to be sure all the new breakers were labeled clearly making g it very easy to understand what is what if I need to flip off a breaker. Christian was a delight to have work around our home. He was very professional and very educated in all things electrical. He pointed out several items that needed attention upon review. We had a fried GFCI plug in our garage from one of the recent storms is the reason we had him out. While here Christian identified that our pool pump was not GFCI protected. Also pointed out things we could do to prevent further damage as we get allot of storms here. We had Christian replace the copper grounding rod, change out a cracked plug and cover on our back patio, we also had him install an entire home surge protector. We also signed up for the VIP program which ensures WHE comes out next year for another safety review. Overall my husband and I are super pleased at the work Christian provided for us. We feel much safer in our home after his safety check and the work that was done.

Roland and Jerald were awesome! They took care of all our needs to bring our 1965 home up to code—GFIs, breakers, wires, extension poles, etc. They worked hard all day to get the job done in one visit. They took care of us by bringing in a generator so I could still have internet and make my Zoom meeting. They were super nice, quiet, and cleaned up the work sites. A joy to have in our home.
